Die EiABC ist ein autonomes Institut der Addis-Ababa-Universität mit Schwerpunkt auf traditionelle äthiopische Lehmarchitektur. Das Institut bietet Bachelor-, Master- und PhD-Programme und forscht an der Dokumentation und modernen Anwendung von Lehmkonstruktionen (Stampflehm, Lehmstein, traditionelle Gewölbebau). Besonders bekannt ist das 2011–2013 durchgeführte Dokumentationsprojekt in Kooperation mit österreichischen Partnerinstituten.
