National Society for Earthquake Technology – Nepal (NSET)

NSET (gegründet 1994) ist Nepals führende NGO für Erdbebenrisikoreduzierung und forscht systematisch zu seismisch-resistenten Erdbaukonstruktionen. Leitprojekt ist die Rekonstruktion einer Schule in Jajarkot mit Interlocking Compressed Stabilised Earth Bricks (CSEB) als erdbebensicherer und ökologisch verträglicher Bautypologie. NSET publizierte ein Handbuch 'Earthquakes — A Manual for Designers and Builders' mit Kapiteln zu Erdbaukonstruktionen sowie Forschungen zur seismischen Vulnerabilität von Erdbauten im Kathmandu Valley. Das Programm läuft laufend und hat internationale Partner (USAID, GHI, UNDP).
